Who We Are
What We Do
By calling, emailing, or accessing us through this website. We welcome personal contacts from all interested parties.
AFMD was founded by family and friends of the disABLED. Our belief is that all people are created by God and have abilities and purpose that are respected and cared for out of Faith, Hope, Humor and most importantly, LOVE.
First, thank you for considering helping our community! You can make a donation (use the donation button) to help us provide valuable programming and respite services to individuals and families. We also encourage individuals or organizations looking for volunteering opportunities to contact us via phone, email, or the website.
AFMD is not connected to or controlled by any religious organization. Even though it is faith based in a spiritual purpose, it does not exclude people or families no matter their race, color, or religious affiliation.
Thanks to support from religious organizations and private donors, fees for programs and services are either free or have minimal charges based on ability to pay. Fees are waived for those who are unable to pay because we believe all individuals and families in our community should have access to compassionate support services.
The goal of AFMD is to be responsive to identified and evolving needs within our community. Some of the programs and services we offer include: accessible transport; respite care, including couples respite; retreats; seminars and workshops that focus on topics and needs of the disabled and their families; prayer and bible study groups; support groups; worship services; celebration dinners for holidays and special events; personal assistance with accessing community programs and services; food services and an interactive website. Specific questions should be forwarded to our AFMD office.
